Connect Hackney

Connect Hackney learning event

Commissioners, policymakers and front-line workers delivering and designing services for older people in Hackney
are invited to the upcoming Connect Hackney learning event.

Local charities, community groups and older people themselves have to say about how older people can increase their social networks and make friends in later life; and how co-production can improve projects and services delivered for them.

Event details

The event on Thursday 2 April 2020 at St Joseph’s Hospice will include:

• Connect Hackney programme evaluation findings and data from the University of East London of over 20 local projects for older people
• Reflections from older people on staying connected and making new friends
• Insights from VCS staff working with local older people
• Learning on Outreach, Getting out and about, Making friends and Increasing social networks, Co-production, and Supporting older people to influence policy

Connect Hackney aims to improve the wellbeing of Hackney residents aged 50 and over by reducing or preventing loneliness and isolation. We do this by commissioning VCS organisations to deliver projects, and use outcomes data to evaluate their impact.

This event is delivered in collaboration between Connect Hackney and over 25 charities and community groups working with older people in Hackney.
