Help for local residents to use technology

Hackney council has updated its support information on improving digital skills. Having a basic understanding of how to navigate the internet can really help you in some of your daily activities. It helps to keep in touch with friends and family and with online learning. If you’re new to the internet, the good news is that you are not alone!  

Improve digital skills

Whether you’re starting out or hoping to improve, you can make the most of tech, learn new digital skills with the council’s selection of short and simple guides. Check out the Digital skills team’s how-to videos on https://hackney.gov.uk/digital-skills

Over 50s helpline

It can be scary to learn something new. If you’ve viewed the digital skills webpage and still need some help getting online or using your device, then that’s ok. Call the helpline for some friendly support: 020 3383 0111 on Tuesdays 10am to 3pm.

Get a digital buddy

An adviser can connect you to a trained young person through the Digital Buddy programme.
They will support you to learn new skills or help with any tech issues they may be having.
