They have three tea party groups in Hackney, but would like to develop more groups so they can reach out to more older people who are socially isolated.

Contact the Elderly, a UK charity dedicated to tackling loneliness and social isolation among older people, has been providing monthly social gatherings for people aged 75 and older in your local area Hackney.

Through the group strong bonds have been formed and friendships made – and 95% of the older guests that the charity supports say they now have something to look forward to.

The local group is very popular but in order to ensure that it continues to thrive, the charity needs more volunteers in Hackney to spare a few hours one Sunday afternoon a month to accompany one or two older guests to their event and more older guests to come along.
