The Windrush Cricket Project is a multi faceted inter-generational programme to reigniting the interest and participation in cricketing activity of people from Caribbean and African descent.
The project will use the ICC Cricket World Cup and the 30th Anniversary of Capital Kids Cricket as a platform to deliver sustainable pathways to engage, retain and develop individuals in long term physical activity through community cohesive cricket activities.
This project will bring together young and older people to share experiences, learn, become active and ensure that the rich and diverse stories from the Windrush generation are captured, recorded and archived for future generations.
They particularly want elders from the Caribbean community and their families to bring any pictures, memorabilia, and stories of their involvement with cricket to our event, so that they may capture these for future generations. A light cricket tea (Caribbean style) and cricket games and activity will be available on the day. For further information contact firstname.lastname@example.org
