Winter Warmer to feature Connect Hackney partners

This week is the Winter Warmer – a free Council event and opportunity for Council tenants and leaseholders aged over 55 to mingle with neighbours, and find out about services and
activities aimed at them in Hackney. Attendees can expect:

• A performance of ‘Cindy Rella’, by Connect Hackney partner Theatre Exchange, which is a modern-day, Hackney-as-now panto, highlighting that age is no barrier to a search for love.
• An exclusive one-off Posh Club pop-up with food and live entertainment.
• An internet cafe, to which residents can bring their tablets or smartphones and talk to our team about getting the most from them. An opportunity to have their say on council services and to engage with areas important to them, such as the Repairs Outreach Services, which provides home-based help to vulnerable residents.
• A platform to chat to council officers and others about health, community safety, and wellbeing issues, and find out what support and services are available.
• Parallel Radio, the presenter of which will be chatting to residents about their lives and engaging with people to find out what they think about the borough as a place in which to grow old.
• A free massage.
