Remember Hackney in the Eighties?

Hackney Museum are planning a fascinating new exhibition of local photographs from the 1980s

Would you like to share your memories with Hackney Museum for a new exhibition?

Later this year a new exhibition will open at the Museum that document the highs and lows of life in Hackney during the 1980s. The featured photographs are from the Rio Cinema Archive.

Hackney Museum have organised two events in March showing a selection of the photographs.

Participants are invited to attend one of the events. This is a chance for you to share your memories of 1980s Hackney at this informal community setting. Light refreshments will be provided and the forum is open to local individuals and community groups.

I would love to participate…As I’ve lived in Hackney all of my life! The 80s was a wonderful time and I’ve lots of memories that I treasure….My sisters and their children were all born here, my son too! I’ve seen many changes and am planning to leave within a year… So it would be so nice to leave or give something to the future residence of this amazing borough of London!
