Coronavirus Vaccine Conversations: Black Communities in City and Hackney


A Zoom panel was hosted last week for Black communities in City and Hackney is described as ‘a chance to have honest conversations and ask the questions you want answers to in regards to Covid-19 and the vaccine’.

The event took place on 18 February 2021. 

The panel was hosted by Hackney CVS, City and Hackney CCG, Hackney Council, The City of London Corporation, Volunteer Centre Hackney and Healthwatch Hackney.

Hackney’s Director of Public Health Dr Sandra Husbands was present to provide information, and the nine panellists included community educator Toyin Agbetu, health activist Patrick Vernon and Abdi Hassan from Coffee Afrique, a Connect Hackney-funded project.

Participants were able to submit questions to the panel when registering. The event is was open to City and Hackney residents and workers and is the first in a series of discussions facilitated by Hackney CVS CEO Jake Ferguson.
