Challenging Ageism

Stereotyping is part of everyday life, it’s unavoidable, and in many instances vital to our survival, when needing to make quick decisions to assess perceived danger and take appropriate action.

However, stereotypes are often formed on out dated opinions, biased thinking, skewed information, or just simply untruths.

Therefore, for many on the receiving end of being stereotyped, the impact can be hurtful and damaging.

It’s important for all of us to recognise how we stereotype others, and the barriers these create in us and being able to make new connections and nurture existing relationships.

Connect Hackney ‘Challenging Stereotypes’ workshop which will challenge you to think about how you might stereotype others, and possibly how others might stereotype you. Participants will have a wider lens from which to view others, and we hope fewer barriers to making new connections.
